J-FASHION COMMUNITY EVENTS

Oh Dear! The deadline for registration has passed... but should a spot mysteriously open up, we will invite the next interested party on the Waistlist to attend!
You’re Invited...
to Häxan House, our virtual mixer event for Gramarye: The Resurrection on Sunday, October 10th, at noontime Pacific Time.
What is a virtual mixer? Rather than the usual 'tea party' format, where attendees are assigned to one fixed room, in the mixer format, guests are not confined to a single room. Instead, all available rooms (i.e. voice channels) will be open for you to move from and explore freely. This mixer is themed after Haunted Houses and features several rooms with unique, lighthearted activities based around broad hobbies or interests.
But beware!
Don’t get too comfortable in these rooms, because a ghost plagues this house!
Every 20 minutes our resident wraith will start a haunting: This ghost will appear in each room to interrupt the festivities and swap a few Mixer guests to a different room in the house at random. Fortunately for you, interacting with the mortal realm drains the ghost's spiritual energy, and they are unable to move an individual guest more than once during our mixer.
Not a fan of otherworldly apparitions? Don’t fret! Our groundskeeper has found an excess of salt in the Lady’s drawing room and has prepared the Atrium to act as “safe room” for you to hide in if you would like to avoid the ghost during hauntings. This room is protected and the ghost cannot enter or move guests into it.
Join us for our spooky soiree and RSVP below.
We’re just dying to meet you!
Details
Date: Sunday, October 10th, 2021
Time: 12:00pm PDT / 3:00pm EDT / 8:00pm BST
There will only be one time slot for this event!
Due to limitations and to ensure an optimal experience for all attendees, reservations will be capped at 40 guests. We will open a waitlist after the reservation time period closes, or sooner if seats fill up before the deadline. Waitlisted guests will be contacted first-come-first-serve as space opens up.
The Casper Clause:
The “ghost” that will appear will be one of the Bay Area Kei team members. As stated above, they will appear in each applicable room every ~20 minutes and swap a few guests to new rooms at random. If you do not wish to be moved by the ghost during these “hauntings” you can “hide” in the safe room (The Atrium) by entering that room’s voice channel. The ghost will be keeping a list of all attendees to keep track of all movement and special requests, so you will not be moved more than once.
Please understand that in order to keep things fair for all guests and ensure that all of the rooms are equally accessible, the ghost may need to move you - especially if you have not switched rooms in a while. When the haunting ends, you may go back into the room you were previously in if need be, but consider switching rooms on your own again soon after!
Please contact us at any time via Discord or email at bayareakei@gmail.com if you have any issues or concerns.
Attendance Eligibility
Due to the limited seating capacity of this event, we are asking that attendees submit proof of entry to our Charity Drawing by donating to the ACLU, our chosen beneficiary for this event OR reposting our social media post on Instagram.
To register to participate in the Mixer you can either:
-
Submit proof of donation of $10 USD or more to the ACLU, our chosen beneficiary for this event. This donation will be non-transferable/non-refundable.
OR
-
Repost our social media post on Instagram, “like” the original post, tag a friend, and follow the Bay Area Kei Instagram account. This post must stay up for the duration of the event and your account must be public.
Please see the Charity Drawing page for more information about our chosen charity and entry details. You will be asked to submit proof in the RSVP form. You may both donate and repost for a maximum of two entries to the contest.
TEA PARTY SPOTS
Seats are limited, so please do not wait until the last minute to RSVP. Mixer registration is on first-come, first-serve basis. If reservations fill up before the deadline, you will automatically be added to the waitlist. Once registrations closes, you may choose to register for the waitlist, and we will contact you if a spot opens up.
DISCORD SERVER
We will be assigning attendees to chat rooms on our Event Discord Server. This allows for small groups of people to easily chat and participate in activities led by the table host. We will ask for your username in the RSVP form, so please have a Discord account before signing up. If you are unfamiliar with Discord, here is our video guide to help you best utilize it for a virtual tea party. We also have a tech guide and virtual event guide available on our webpage as well as in the server.
AFTER SUBMITTING THE FORM
Once you submit an RSVP form, you will receive a confirmation email with specific guidelines and information. We will continue to follow up to that email address with any additional information, so please make sure the email address is correct and to check your spam folder for any missed messages.
Please read the RSVP form carefully. You may contact us at bayareakei@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Carte du Jour
Most recipes have ingredients that can be substituted for dietary restrictions! Please check the recipes for more info, or use your own cooking knowledge! Since this event is based on a “house tour” with anticipated movement, we have curated a selection of easy finger foods and hors d'oeuvre for easy snacking.
