Royal Ruby: Antique Sodas and Sundaes

Sodas:

ROYAL RUBY

• Grape juice .......... 2 ounces

• Strawberry syrup ..... 1 ounce

• Rose leaves 6;

• Mint leaves, 6;

• Cracked ice ............1/2 glassful

Crush  leaves well against the side of the glass with ice. Stir thoroughly,  then add carbonated water (coarse stream) and serve in tall lemonade  glass. Decorate with creme de menthe (or any type available) cherries  and a slice of lemon. Price for 12 ounces, 15 cents.

ANGEL FOOD

• Vanilla syrup...............1 oz.

• Red orange syrup..........1 oz.

• Ice cream..................2 ozs.

• Ice, one-quarter glass.

• Shake, strain, toss and serve.

• SPA FIZZ

• Orange syrup...............1 oz.

• Strawberry syrup........... 1 oz.

• Cracked ice, 1/4 glass.

Shake, then add coarse stream, fill glass, decorate with fruit (orange slice on rim, strawberry on top).

Sundae:

FREE LUNCH

Take  a deep sundae dish, one that will hold two disherfuls of cream, and put  in one disherful of vanilla ice cream. Over this put some chocolate  syrup, a few pieces of sliced bananas and a half teaspoonful of malted  milk (powder). Now put in another disherful of vanilla cream and cover  with chocolate syrup. Place sliced bananas all around the top with a  spoonful of chopped pecans over all. At the top, in the center, place a  Maraschino cherry with a toothpick through it.

Of course,  you must use your judgment in the making and not be too liberal, because  if you are careful you can make a good percent of profit on each  sundae.
