BADGE RIBBONS

WHAT ARE BADGE RIBBONS?

Badge ribbons are adhesive ribbons, usually with printed art or text, designed to hang off your badge. They can be informative (pronouns, event roll, etc) or imaginative, letting people know what you’re into. Ribbons can be stacked so that you have a long chain hanging off the end of your badge.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING BADGE RIBBONS?

We want to encourage you to get to know our staff and fellow attendees. Making, collecting, and trading ribbons is just another way you can make friends during the weekend!

HOW CAN I START COLLECTING THEM?

You can get them just by participating in events! Different types of ribbons will be distributed throughout the weekend depending on what events you attend. You can also earn them by completing certain tasks! If you don’t get a ribbon, don’t fret! You can trade, barter, or beg ribbons off people all weekend. We also encourage attendees to order or make their own ahead of the event to give away or trade.

I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN!

When you want to level up your ribbon game, you can bring your own to give away or trade. To make your own, you can use printable iron-on transfers to create colorful art ribbons. If you have a cutting machine, you can also buy blank ribbons and cut your own designs. If you don’t want to DIY your own ribbons, you can place a custom order with ribbon-making companies such as Marco’s Promos, PC Nametag, or Ribbons Galore. Prices vary, but generally the earlier you order, and the more ribbons you order, the cheaper it will be. Our badges will be 4 inches long, so we recommend getting horizontal ribbons that are 4 x 1.85 or 4 x 2 for bigger designs.
